Fantastic first novel. A real page turner!! Gripping, enthralling, witty and fast paced. Everything you could ask for in a fantasy novel. If you enjoy Joe Abercrombie or even Terry Pratchett, you’ll enjoy this book. Cant wait for the second in the series.

Really enjoyed this book, one of the best new fantasy booked I’ve read in a long time! Compelling and thoroughly entertaining read. Nice pace, great characterisation and relationships. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

A very enjoyable read from the start. Characters seem quite realistic and I soon found myself rooting for some and hoping for a nasty end to some others. Looking forward to the next book.
